Advertising OSU Jobs
Use OSU Jobs for recruiting and your job ad will reach more people. OSU Jobs allows hiring officials a convenient way to manage their applicant pool. When you list open position on OSU Jobs, HR will advertise on the following job boards:
- OSU Jobs, http://jobs.okstate.edu/. Applicants can find OSU’s current open positions, create an account and apply for these positions.
- OSU’s Career Services, http://hireosugrads.com/. Job board for OSU alumni and student job seekers.
- INSIGHT Into Diversity, http://www.insightintodiversity.com/. A higher education online diversity job board.
- HigherEdJobs, https://www.higheredjobs.com. Applicable to OSU-Stillwater faculty and staff positions only. A source for jobs and career information in academia.
- OKJobMatch, https://okjobmatch.com/ada/r/. Applicable to OSU-Stillwater staff positions only. Oklahoma’s public workforce job matching system for job seekers.
Additional Advertisement Options
Many websites (Indeed for example) collect position advertisements from job boards such as OSU Jobs and list the position on their site. The benefit of the additional outreach and exposure is free with some limitations. Many of these sites will offer additional features for purchase. A sponsored job on Indeed can promote the position and increase visibility. You can limit the costs by setting a daily limit. Indeed will recommend a budget when you begin to post the position. The budget is based on your job title and location so that your job stays relevant in search results. The actual cost will vary depending on how many clicks your job ad received.
From Indeed, “For example, if your daily budget is $10.00, you’ll spend a maximum of $305.00 for the month ($10 daily budget x 30.5 average days per month). However, you may spend $8.00 on one day and $12.00 on another. Your maximum monthly budget is prorated when you start in the middle of the month. In this case, your daily budget is multiplied times the remaining days in the month to calculate your maximum monthly budget.”
Another feature on Indeed is free access to search resumes. The catch is you must purchase a subscription to contact a candidate.

LinkedIn allows for prospective employers to post a job listing through OSU’s main company page, here. Additionally, LinkedIn offers the opportunity to ‘sponsor’ the listing which increases the chance for your job to be viewed by prospective applicants with skills matching your listing.
LinkedIn provides a reporting tool that lets you see how many views and click throughs your job has received. To learn how to post your job, follow the instructions below:

- Go to LinkedIn and create a personal profile.
- Click “Jobs” link.
- Click “Post a Job.”
- Fill out the Job Posting form.
Note: This information is similar to what is used in the Cornerstone system job summary and/or job description. There are various features available for when the position is posted. - Optional (but recommended): Sponsor my job. This feature allows tracking of interested applicants who click to view the job. There is a cost per click on each sponsored position. This feature allows for a total budget to be included for the sponsoring. LinkedIn will track the budget and send an email notification upon reaching the established budget.
