Meet the Pups
Their faces break out in furry grins, their tails wag mightily, and they offer people a joyful, wiggly welcome. That is the magic of a therapy dog from the OSU Pete's Pet Posse.
All Pete’s Pet Posse dogs have earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen Award and are certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.

Agatha
At “only” 130 pounds, Agatha is small in stature for an English mastiff, but big in personality. She went home with her humans on Valentine’s Day, 2021 and has been a big love ever since. She’s the third of four mastiffs in her household, so it’s a big dog family. Agatha is the third Poke in the family; her human sibling, Sam, is a music industry major, and Mom works as an academic advisor with the Office of Student Success. Favorite things include sleeping on the bed with her human sister Lucy, showing you her “babies” (stuffed animals), and driving with Mom to Stillwater from her house in Edmond. Agatha has never met a human, dog, or creature that she didn’t want to befriend, and will eagerly give kisses and do the mastiff “lean” if you let her (the breed’s signature version of a hug). Due to her size, Agatha usually gets a lot of attention wherever she goes, and she is honored to be part of the P3 family. Agatha works with her mom in First Year Student Success.
Annie
Annie is an American Pitbull/Staffordshire Terrier or “Staffy” and was found as a stray by park rangers in Roaring River State Park in Cassville, Missouri. When found, she was deeply malnourished, weak, and covered head-to-toe with ticks. At the time, Annie could barely lift her head from the bed she was lying in. Her parents inquired about her with the park staff, assuming she belonged to them or was an office dog. The staff quickly let them know she was a stray, and they were desperately trying to find her previous owners. Phone calls were made, and it was discovered that Annie was NINE years old. It turns out that Annie had had a long sequence of owners, being constantly turned over from one house to another at no fault of her own. When her most recent owner was contacted, they declared, “She’s yours.” Adam picked the name “Annie” because she was found on his and his wife’s 1-year wedding anniversary. She loves to curl up under a blanket, go on walks, and meet new people. She is easily approachable and is happy to sit with someone and receive all the pets and scratches. Annie has the calmest demeanor, knows her commands/tricks, and loves to give sweet kisses. Annie works with her dad in Edmon Low Library. Annie has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen Award and is certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Bear Jordan
Uncle Bear is a Bernese Mountain Dog who is part of Pete’s Pet Posse at Oklahoma State
University. He was born February 14, 2016, and his favorite human in the whole world
is his mama. He found his family on April 8, 2021, and as a rescue dog, he loves the
fact that he finally has a forever home filled with love! Uncle Bear works with his
mom in Institutional Research and Analytics.
Bexlie
Bexlie is a Cane Corso (fancy for Italian Mastiff), who was born 10/10/2020 and came
to her furever home on March 29th, 2021. She is the most spoiled alongside her brother
Boomer. Bexlie loves to be outside. She is a loaner but loves affection. In the summertime
you can guarantee she will be at the lake camping. She loves going on boat rides,
swimming in the water and nature walks. She is so patient, kind, and loving. There
isn't an animal or human that she doesn't love. Bexlie is very routine, and she will
tell you when it is time for a dog treat. She loves to play outside and chase Boomer,
she might also try to steal the ball from him when they play fetch. She also enjoys
long naps (with one of her back legs kicked out), like the princess she is. She has
a soft spot for her human dad, Ryan, who has her spoiled with all the pets and loves
a dog could want. If you are going to pet her, be ready for her to tell you that she
isn't ready for you to stop, she will make sure you continue to love on her with a
gentle paw on your hand. The only time you can find her being fussy is if it's bath
time or when she knows it's time for a treat. Bexlie is excited to be a part of P3.
Bhodi
Bhodi is a lively Husky with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He was adopted from an agency in TN and made his travel across state lines in June 2022. Bhodi has grown into a playful whirlwind who keeps his mom and Australian Shepherd brother entertained with his goofy antics. Whether he's zooming around the yard or begging his brother to play, Bhodi is always on the move. His favorite activities include long walks, playing tug-of-war, and proudly parading his toys around the house. Unlike his Husky nature, Bhodi does not chat a lot. He is a social butterfly who thrives on meeting new people and dogs, but he's also a cuddle bug at heart. Bhodi’s dislikes are few but firm — he's not a fan of bath time or being told he can’t dig in the yard (even though he's convinced he’s a master landscaper). His playful spirit, loving nature, and endless energy make him a joy to be around. Bhodi proudly represents the Department of College of Arts and Sciences Outreach, spreading smiles wherever he goes.
Blue
Meet Blue — a joyful standard Australian Shepherd born on June 4, 2022. With her striking blue merle coat, expressive blue eyes, and bubbly personality she is ready to make a new friend any day, anytime! Blue finds joy in life’s simple pleasures. She never turns down a game of fetch, especially if it involves her favorite tennis ball, and she loves cruising around town with the windows down and her hair blowing in the wind. Her sense of style is just as impressive as her personality — with a bandana collection topping 50 (and growing!), she’s always dressed to impress, whether she's out for a walk or greeting students at work. Blue isn’t just a fun-loving pup — she’s also a hardworking girl with a heart of gold. She proudly accompanies Marissa at the Spears School of Business. From playful pup to professional cuddle-giver, Blue does it all.
Bob
Bob, an English Cream Golden Retriever, was born on a Christmas tree farm in northern
Illinois on November 27, 2020. His joyful smile and gentle spirit make him the perfect
therapy pup. He brings his loving and goofy disposition, a zest for life (every day
is his favorite day!), and affinity for connection to all of his visits. He loves
homemade almond butter, fresh fruits and veggies, lap naps, and stolen socks. He's
just as happy prancing in a rare Oklahoma snow as he is lounging in the pool. Never
is he more proud than when he shows off his skill at carrying two toys at once: a
two-fer! Bob lives with his humans and canine brother, Mose, close to the Stillwater
campus.
Bobby
Hi there! My name is Bobby, and I am a Miniature Australian Shepherd. I take my heritage
very seriously, and my humans often tell me that I embody all the best traits of an
Aussie. I am blue-eyed, full of fuzz, love, and adventure.
When I'm not chasing squirrels or corralling my two cat brothers, I like to hang out and relax. I've been told I'm pretty laid-back and chill - I enjoy evenings by the fire and long naps during the day. But don't let that fool you - I'm also quite the adventurer! I've lived in several states across the U.S., including Wyoming, California, and Arizona, and I love nothing more than exploring new places.
When I'm not lounging around, you can find me exploring the great outdoors. There's nothing quite like a good hike up a tall mountain or playing in the fluffy snow! One of my favorite things to do is go on road trips with my humans. There's something about hitting the open road and seeing new sights that really gets my tail wagging.
Despite all my travels, I always come back to my roots. I was born right here in Oklahoma, and I'm excited to be coming home to be part of Pete's Pet Posse. I can't wait to share my love and affection with this incredible community. I work with my mom in Center for Global Learning. I have earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and am certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Boomer
Meet Boomer, the pint-sized pup with a heart as big as the Oklahoma sky! Born in the sunny lands of New Mexico in September 2019, Boomer's story is nothing short of remarkable. Originally adopted to provide comfort for a family navigating through tough times and dubbed after their alma mater's spirited moniker (you know who!), Boomer’s journey took a poignant turn when his dad passed away. However, fate had brighter days in store and in February 2021, Boomer found his forever home with the Santillán-Salinas family, where he's been spreading joy ever since. Boomer's hobbies include basking in the warmth of endless cuddles, indulging in his vast array of Lambchop toys (a connoisseur, if you will), and orchestrating epic games of fetch with his human siblings and new brother, Petey. He has a particular weakness for mozzarella cheese sticks – a true gourmet pup! But wait, there's more to this fur-tastic tale! Boomer and his mom, Mónica, are honored to be recipients of the 2024 Amy Olson Memorial Scholarship and Boomer is the first-ever P3 pup in the Greenwood School of Music. He is a furball prodigy!
Bruno
Hi friends! I was born on January 10, 2018, in Arkansas. My mom picked me up on a warm March day. It was a long drive home, but I love to sleep so I enjoyed the
ride! I grew up traveling with my mom to horse shows and you won't believe how many lifelong friends I've made! I'm kind of a celebrity... at least I think so!
I have 2 dog siblings, Blanche and Elly May. Elly May is new to the family and doesn't sleep as much as me. She's exhausting. If you ever can't find me, I'm down in the woods turtle hunting but I never hurt them and always take them back to my mom. Between naps, I also like to run errands with my mom or follow along while she rides her horses. Wherever she is, I'm always close by.
Caldwell
Caldwell is a big dog with a big heart! This sweet boy was born in October 2016. He was just too big for his owners, so this Great Dane had to be re-homed. Caldwell joined his forever home in Stillwater on July 16, 2017. He found true love with Dad and Mom, Kyle and Rebecca Eastham, and his pup-siblings, Tucker and Phoebe Dee. This big fella weighs in at 120lbs and stands about 5’11” on his hind legs. He loves to wrestle and play chase with Phoebe Dee. He likes green beans, fortune cookies, and Starbuck’s Puppuccinos. You can often find him sleeping upside down on the couch. Caldwell is a big OSU fan and thought he should be considered for the next Bullet. When that wasn’t a possibility, he looked for other ways to be part of the Cowboy family. After he learned he could share some love, provide affection, and get lots of petting, he knew that Pete’s Pet Posse was perfect for him! He is excited to help positively enhance physical and emotional health and contribute to the success of being America's HEALTHIEST Campus®. Caldwell is proud to announce that he earned his Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. He is the first Great Dane in the Posse! Caldwell works with his mom in the Spears School of Business.
Cam
Cam is a lively and spunky Corgi born on January 4, 2024 in Oklahoma. His mom’s work family at University Health Services gifted Cam to her on May 8, 2024 shortly after the passing of her loyal 10-year-old Corgi, Samson. Cam has brought an abundance of joy and comfort to his mom’s life: she has learned first-hand the correlation of pets with human wellness. It was evident that Cam’s gift of creating peace, well-being, tolerance, and loyalty needed to be shared with others on campus. Cam loves being the center of attention and is a sucker for belly rubs! It's impossible not to smile when you're around him. Whether he's playing fetch or herding his feline siblings, Cam’s energy and affection are contagious. He works alongside his mom, Shawna, at University Health Services, where he’s earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Carson
Carson wasn’t supposed to be the one. He was the last of his litter—overlooked, passed by, and left waiting. But sometimes, the ones no one chooses are the ones meant for something greater. His life changed with a single Facebook post, and so did hers. Carson’s mom saw his little face—those piercing blue eyes—and in that exact moment, she knew. He wasn’t just a puppy. He was hope. Healing. Home. At the time, she was quietly battling her own struggles, searching for something to hold onto. What she found was him. The very next morning, Carson was in her arms, and from that day forward, he never left her side. Together, they’ve come a long way—from a small New Jersey town to Stillwater, Oklahoma. And in every step of that journey, Carson has been her light. He’s got the wild heart of a Husky and the sass of a Pomeranian. He lives for snowy adventures, Jeep rides with the windows down, swimming, playing in the mud, and chasing his favorite toy monkey through the house. His goofy spirit brings joy to every corner of her life. But Carson is more than just playful—he’s deeply intuitive. He can sense pain without a word spoken, and he responds the only way he knows how: with closeness, comfort, and love. He’ll curl up in bed, tucked in a blanket, silently reminding you that you’re never alone. His gift of compassion extends far beyond their home. Carson proudly wears his Pete’s Pet Posse vest, knowing he’s headed to do what he was born to do—spread light. Whether it’s offering quiet support or joyful tail wags, he gives people something to smile about on their hardest days. He’s earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs—but his real achievement is the way he touches hearts. Carson is a reminder that healing can come on four paws. That love shows up when you least expect it. And that sometimes, the dog no one wanted ends up becoming everything to someone.
Cassie
In August 2022, a young pup needed a forever home. She was less than a year old and had been living on the streets surviving on insects and anything else she could catch. She was taken to the Humane Society in Seminole and fostered by one of their members when her forever family heard about her. Her mum and dad had been looking for a companion for Darwin as he had been depressed following the death of his older brother, Huxley. He traveled to Earlsboro with his mum to meet Cassie, and they bonded immediately despite the discrepancy in their ages! Darwin was seven years old and Cassie not even twelve months old. They love to chase one another and wrestle! Darwin now has a new lease on life and Cassie adores him. He has helped teach her good manners – such as not breaking the fence to wander the neighborhood stealing shoes from neighbors’ porches and bringing them home! Cassie has a sunny nature and sees everyone she meets, including other dogs, as friends. She made it very clear, by hiding under her parents’ bed, that, like her older brother, Darwin, she did not need to be in the crate and could be trusted to have the freedom of the house overnight and when her family is out. She no longer steals and chews shoes but still loves a crunchy cicada snack whenever she can find one; however, her absolute favorite treat is cheese. Cassie will be a second dog in the Honors College and the third Garbutt dog to be in Pete’s Pet Posse. As Darwin gets older, she will be a replacement for her older brother in therapy work.
*Charlie
Charlie is a proud member of Pete’s Pet Posse’s very first class, joining the P3 family in 2013. A true original, Charlie isn’t just part of the story—he helped write it.
Charlie’s journey to his forever home is as heartwarming as it is uniquely his. A lovable rescue, he first showed up unannounced at his now-parents’ house. Though they found his original family and returned him (reluctantly!), Charlie had other plans. He broke free and found his way back—proving he knew exactly where he belonged. He chose his family not once, but twice… and they’ve never looked back. Charlie now shares his home—and occasionally his treats—with his spirited little sister Sutton (P3 Class 10). While she keeps things lively, Charlie remains the steady old soul who loves every human he meets. He thrives on gentle touches, being close to his people, and soaking up all the love he can get. He lives the good life at Lake Keystone, where he keeps the yard clear of squirrels, rabbits, turtles, and the occasional opossum (one of which he proudly brought indoors). With professional-level counter surfing skills and a newfound appreciation for pantry raids, Charlie keeps his family on their toes.
In 2024, Charlie was elected P3 Pawsident during the Bark the Vote campaign—an honor he doesn’t take lightly. He also proudly serves as the personality behind OSU’s university chatbot, Cowboy Charlie, bringing warmth and wisdom to every conversation. Charlie’s impact on campus and beyond is more than his family ever imagined and they are grateful for every single day with this amazing pup. He may have started as a rescue, but today, he’s a respected leader, a therapy dog veteran, and a proud representative of Cowboy compassion at its finest.
Charlie Brown
Charlie Brown is one in a litter of three Miniature Dachshunds. One day, he was introduced to his human Mom at a local veterinarian’s office. Two days later this sweet, handsome, spotted puppy came home to befriend an aged Australian Terrier, Katie, and his human family of four. A year later, Lucy, a dappled Miniature Dachshund joined him. Charlie Brown is a wonderful big brother. Charlie loves chasing squirrels in his backyard. And he loves to chew…toys, dog treats, leashes, harnesses, his seat belt, another seat belt… Toys usually survive an hour or less. Luckily, he’s outgrown the “shoe issue” he had as a puppy. Charlie Brown loves belly rubs and to snuggle under the covers while he’s sleeping. He’s pretty relaxed, unless he hears the word “squirrel” or the door bell rings.
Chewbacca
Chewbacca is a shaggy Old English Sheepdog. He was born in Mexico in July and adopted in October 2018. He is a very friendly, high-spirited dog and loves to be around humans. His excitement and funky personality make all those around him happy when they see him. His favorite treat is cheese, and he will run from anywhere as soon as he hears the package being opened. Chewbacca loves the outdoors and really enjoys the water and swimming. He often travels with his humans between Oklahoma, Texas, and Mexico and loves to sleep in the back seat or let the AC or window air hit his face. One of his favorite past times is running around the backyard chasing squirrels. When he is calm, he loves belly rubs and will lay as long as you are willing to rub his belly. He has been a part of Pete’s Pet Posse since he was a two years old (in 2020) and loves being a part of the “May the 4th be with you” annual destress event for students. His mom works in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology as Manager of CEAT Prospective Student Services. Chewbacca has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award, is certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs, is a Novice trick dog and has Agility training.
Colt
Colt is a Labrador Retriever who was born on March 9, 2017. He lives with his human parents, Robert Raab and Bruce Waterfield. Colt’s desired way to spend his time is chasing a ball or playing tug of war. Like most labs, he loves playing in the water and runs for the pond at the house as much as he can. He is happy to be part of the P3 program at OSU and loves attention, being petted, dog kisses, and hugs. Colt works in the Financial Planning Coach office, where his handler, Robert, is the Associate Director of Financial Student Success. Colt has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Daisy
Daisy started out life on the road with a trucker, but after she got hit by a car as a pup she found herself surrendered to the Ft. Worth shelter with a broken femur. Luckily, a great rescue named Saving Pyrs in Need (SPIN) was able to pull her and get her the special vet care she needed. Her mom Chelsea had been following her story since she first landed in the shelter, so when her leg was good enough an adoption application was made and the rest is history! Daisy is the happiest most loving girl in the world. She is obsessed with being petted, to the point that she will grab your hand and drag it towards her if she notices it sitting there idle. The only thing that comes close to rivalling her love of petting is her love of food- whatever it is, she’s ready to try it, even if it’s not supposed to be eaten! One strange thing she loves eating is bugs- beetles, moths, and other creepy crawlies better watch out! When she’s not soaking up attention on campus, she spends her time playing with her doggie siblings, fetching tennis balls, and protecting the yard from squirrels. Her Embark test revealed she’s 88.7% Great Pyrenees and 11.3% German Shepherd Dog. When she's not at events, Daisy spends time in her mom's office in the High Performance Computing Center.
Daisy Mae
Daisy Mae is more like a teddy bear than a typical miniature poodle.
She’s more interested in snuggles and snacks than grooming or sitting pretty. Her favorite game is chasing her litter-mate sister, Petunia. Daisy Mae lives for ALL the cuddles and pets from her students. She is so patient and chill, even when riding with her mom on their Segway around campus. Because Daisy Mae is a poodle, she doesn’t shed and is less likely to trigger allergies. Daisy Mae works in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Darwin
Darwin is a gentle and friendly yellow Labrador, who loves being with people and being petted. He has an outgoing personality and will poke you VERY gently with his nose if he feels you are not petting him enough. He was found October 2015 running free on a farm east of Stillwater. The farmer tried to find the owner of the dog but had no success. While we initially intended just to pick him up and take him to the Humane Society, it did not take us long to realize that this beat-up looking animal was a gentle, friendly dog who, when introduced to Huxley, our other therapy dog, very quickly bonded with him. Initially he would not come into the house; however, with a little coaxing he came into the kitchen and ultimately discovered the joys of soft beds and warm fires and has adapted quickly to his new environment. Now Darwin lives happily as part of the family. He learned well from Huxley, and has adopted a friendly and reasonably laid-back approach to life. He loves Posse events and thinks the Student Union is the best place in the world - he tries to wag his whole body when he realizes we are going there. Darwin works with his Dad in Old Central on the “Honors beat”, and spends time with his Mum in Stout Hall. Darwin is a Canine Good Citizen and is nationally certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Dexter
Dexter was born on December 14th, 2018. He had a tough start, as he was kept in a puppy mill in Missouri for the first three years of his life. Luckily, Cavalier Rescue USA stepped in and found him a foster family.
His furever family picked him up in St. Louis in December of 2021. He was SO excited to finally have a yard to run and sunbathe in! He melted his owners’ hearts with his puppy dog eyes and sweet personality. They soon learned, though, that Dexter has a darker side: he loves to destroy any plush toy he can get his paws on, so plushies beware! All things considered, Dexter was named after the hit TV show about a serial killer, so there's some poetic justice here. Since joining his family, he has loved hiking, playing with his puppy pals, lounging on every couch in his house, and lazy days at the beach. He loves children and pets of all kinds and is thrilled to be a therapy dog. Dexter works with his parents in the Departments of History and Philosophy.
*Disco
Disco is a miniature Australian Shepherd born in February of 2013. She was accepted as a founding member of the 2013 Pete’s Pet Posse Class 1 and has been spreading joy and happiness around the OSU campus ever since. She is making fewer P3 visits nowadays due to her age but when on campus her favorite spot to meet and greet her fans is in the south lobby of the library. If you see her there, stop and take a fluffy selfie with her because her blue eyes are magical and she is always smiling.
Dolly Parton
Every morning Dolly Parton tumbles out of bed and gets her mom to pour herself a cup of ambition before singing her way to campus to see everyone! Dolly Parton is
a 2-year-old Miniature Poodle who got her name because everyone knew she was the star
of the show right away. Dolly Parton can be a mouthful, she will also listen to Dolly,
DP, or really anything you want as long as you pet her while saying it. DP will always
have a happy face and will probably be singing her happy sounds and showing off her
spinning moves when she sees everyone around campus because she is so excited to be
there! In order to go to her job every day, DP is a Canine Good Citizen award and
is nationally certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Dolly Parton is so excited
to see you around and meet so many new friends because if DP were to live her life
by a true Dolly Parton song, then it is probably 'Better Get to Livin’.
Emerson
Emerson is a certified lover boy, born on February 13, 2021, just shy of Valentine’s Day. Born during the snowpocalypse in Texas, his favorite pastime is burrowing in blankets, bedding, and clothes. Because of his color dilute coat, he has alopecia and is a big fan of expanding his sweater collection in the winter. Emerson loves to meet new people, play with his brother, Clarke, go on long walks, guarden (guard the backyard while mom and dad do yard work), and roast in the sunshine like a rotisserie chicken. Quite the doomsday prepper, he’s been known to hoard sticks and squeaky balls. When Emerson isn’t playing WWE Smackdown with his brother, he works with his mom in the OSU Office of the President.
Evie A
Evie is a rescue dog. She was originally taken into the municipal shelter in Oklahoma City when she was about 6 months old. She was sick at the time. The Central Oklahoma Humane Society took her into their adoption program, but first they placed her into foster care for a month so she could receive medical treatment and get ready for adoption. Her mom saw her picture online and immediately headed for Oklahoma City. It was love at first sight when she met this happy, energetic, friendly girl, and she adopted Evie that day. Evie has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs. She loves spending time with student athletes and can regularly visits Gallagher Iba Arena.
Findley
Findley has always known his true calling was to spread love to humans. Born into
a loving home May 25, 2021, he started his mission early.
Once his eyes were open as a tiny puppy, he would leave his siblings and come tottering over for scritches whenever he saw a person. His human mum and dad believe in keeping tails and encouraging healthy bodies – so, Findley has a TAIL! His dog mum is from an older line of working corgis, and Findley has her athletic build. As an Academic Corgi, Findley enjoys meeting students on campus. However, he also knows the importance of curling up on the couch to comment on students' papers—or at least to sleep on them. Findley has many undergraduate BFFs in the English Club and the Medieval Studies Group. While primarily a love muffin in these encounters, he also has a variety of tricks he likes to show off— “fist bump," "roll over," and "twist & spin." An avid outdoors dog, he loves swimming, sniffing, and watching the sun go down with friends at Lake McMurtry. He has several BDFFs (Best Dog Friends Forever) and appreciates a good game of chase and wrestling. Findley worked hard and earned the AKC Novice Trick Dog title. Findley works with his human in the English Department.
Finnley
Finnley was born in Nov 2019 on a farm in western OK
and still thinks every critter is his best friend! He was raised and trained by P3 pups Toby & Jackson and although he lives dock diving & swimming he needs warm water!
Guac
Guac (when he is a good boy, Guacamole if not) is a miniature Schnauzer that will
steal your heart in seconds. Guac came home early October 2019 and little his dad
knew, months later they were isolated due to the pandemic. That was a unique opportunity to create this amazing bond while both Guac and his dad navigated rough
waters with so much uncertainty out there. His dad owes his sanity to Guac during
these times and rest assured, both have seen each other at their very best and their
very worst, but that is life and that is what this human-dog bond is all about. This
is what inspired Guac’s dad to apply for the P3 program. Guac has so much love to
give and spread that his presence on-campus is instrumental for him and his mission.
Guac loves socks (especially those fresh out of the laundry) and it is definitely
his favorite toy. He could spend hours chewing a Nylabone. Just like any other dog,
he loves to sleep, but when it is play time, he takes it seriously. Weather permitting,
he loves to go out for walks around the neighborhood and explore around. Guac loves
to jump in the car for a ride but once the car starts moving, he decides to take a
nap. His excitement for riding the car lasts a few minutes which is extremely cute.
Guac is bilingual so do not be surprised if you interact with him and
responds to a very basic word in Spanish like ‘vamos’ (let’s go) or ‘oye’ (listen). Guac became a big brother in January 2023 when Chip joined the family, now known as the Taco Bell Family at the Vet Hospital. Guac works with his dad in the Spears School of Business.
Hazel Jane
Hazel Jane is a Bernese Mountain Dog who is part of Pete’s Pet Posse at Oklahoma State University. She was born March 9, 2020, and came to live with her family eight weeks later. Hazel loves fruits, vegetables, and every squeaky toy on the planet. She also loves to play show-n-tell: When her humans get home, she runs through the house looking for something to show the family (normally shoes). Hazel's uncle Bear also serves in Pete's Pet Posse. Hazel works with her dad in the Spears School of Business.
Howard
Howard is a blue fluffy Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and he joined his family on July 9, 2022. His favorite treats are ham, cheese sticks, and cat treats, although he is supposed to be on a diet! Howard has many nicknames, including “Little Man" and the “Puppy Chunk.” Howard’s favorite place to sleep is under the banquette on his side. He loves our cats but they don’t always appreciate his very enthusiastic attention. Howard’s best friend is his furry brother, a very neurotic Staffordshire Terrier rescue dog Chai, who is afraid of his own shadow. Howard, by contrast, is very confident that everyone wants to pet him and give him treats. Although he was extremely cute as a puppy, his family is happy to report Howard no longer chews up all the shoes, but he still likes to run off with them. Howard likes to greet strangers with a big smile and a full butt wiggle. He still finds it a little hard to sit politely while being pet because he is very excited about making new friends. As the official “Art” Therapy dog, Howard works in multiple locations on and off campus, including the Prairie Arts Center and the Theatre Department, but his mom is faculty in the Department of Art, Graphic Design and Art History in the Bartlett Center. She is also an Associate Dean in CAS, which means Howard can often be found in the Student Success Office.
Jack
Jack was adopted from the Humane Society of Stillwater where he had been waiting for his forever home for 6 months. He now enjoys walks and cuddles with his new family including two little girls who adore him. He is a big lazy dog who is happy to sit outside and sunbath whether it’s 0 or 100 degrees. His real joys in life are ear scratchies and belly rubs.
Jackson
Jackson was born in Virginia in June 2016 and was trained by P3 pup Tob
y! He practiced becoming a therapy dog by visiting the class of 2020 OSU vet students as a puppy and later trained his brother Finnley to be a P3 pup. His 2 legged siblings each have a golden retriever pup that Jax helped raise.
Jackson "Jacks"
My full name is Blackjack Oak, but my friends call me Jackson or Jacks. On May 11, 2022, my mom saw me online and came to see me at Stillwater Animal Welfare. I had huge paws, wild hair and a silly personality. Mom and I bonded on the spot! I kept my shelter name, but since my humans name their dogs after trees, my ecologist dad gave me my full name. At 4 months old, I got a loving human family including a 7lb Yorkie sister named Maple. The Malamute in me loves a good barking/talking session, I herd balls like a Cattle Dog, and the Terrier in me ensures I never have a bad hair day. I'm passionate about being a 50lb lap dog and a connoisseur of fine sticks. I love the wind in my fur on a car ride and adventures anywhere with my family. I'm always stoked to meet ALL humans and dog friends! I work with my mom in Library Communication Services in the Edmon Low Library.
Leo
Leo is a Golden Retriever who is happiest when he is around people who will pet him and rub his belly. He was born 12/23/17 and joined his forever family 6 months later.
He has a winsome begging face that is hard to resist. Whenever he is able, he loves
to jump into muddy water puddles to get smelly. He lives a pampered live w/ many
dog and cat friends (but baby kittens are terrifying!) His P3 training class was extended
due to campus shutdowns during COVID but once it opened back up, he has loved being
on campus. Students often think he is tired on visits but Leo believes that his "work"
in P3 involves lying down so others can adore him. He can be found with his mom,
Donita, at special events on campus.
Leona
Leona was born Nov. 2014, and rescued in Dec. 2019 right before the Covid shut-down. She has a GSD brother, Bubba. She is all GSD personality, stoic, aloof, on guard, and LOVES pets! She has her CGC-A. Leona loves a good squeaker ball, stuffies, food, "helping" in the kitchen, and walks.
Lilo
Lilo holds the title of “rescuer” in her story when she rescued her mom after losing her childhood dog. Lilo is a spunky little Havanese born in March 2022 in Kansas
and traveled through winds and hail in April to Stillwater. From the moment Lilo danced
her way into her mom’s life as a small little bean, she knew she was going to make
a big impact on people. Lilo loves anything that breathes from the smallest of fluffy
animals to any one of the smiling faces that come to meet her! In Lilo’s free time,
she occupies herself with essential tasks: throwing her bone for her mom to fetch
and arguing with the referees on the TV who just made a bad call on her favorite teams.
Although small, don’t be fooled by the amount of energy and love stored in her. Lilo
loves to talk and will kindly remind you when you haven’t shared a french fry or to
pet her again. Lilo loves being on campus and finding a new friend to lie on top of.
Lilo works in Orange Power Studios where her mom, Kayla, is a graphic designer. Lilo has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award, AKA Novice Trick award, and is certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Lizzy
Lizzy is a very friendly and super happy Golden Doodle. Her doggie mom is a standard poodle, and her doggie dad is a golden retriever. Every puppy in her litter has the
same beautiful black coat, with a sprinkle of gray. She came to live with her human
family in the fall of 2022, and lives with her BFF cousins Roscoe and Boone, and a
cat named Ed. Lizzy is a lover of all things – treats, squeaky toys, balls, and did
I mention treats? Lots and lots of treats! If rabbits and turtles could be her friends,
she’d welcome them, too, as she spends most of her day looking for baby bunnies under
the shed and has actually brought a turtle and bunny into the house to play with them
on the couch. Her favorite treat is getting to go for car rides with the windows down
and the wind blowing in her face. The truth is, Lizzy flunked out of her first basic
obedience class when she was a puppy because she just wanted to play with all of the
other dogs and people. Lizzy was meant to be a pet therapy dog, as she truly enjoys
helping people feel better and loving on them - She was born for this and is living
her best life! Lizzy works with her mom in the Seretean Wellness Center with ABLE Tech. Lizzy has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with Alliance
of Therapy Dogs.
Lowly Worm
Lowly Worm is a Standard Poodle with a big heart, a playful spirit, and a natural
gift for making people smile. Lowly Worm's favorite activities include dock diving, wandering
the aisles of Home Depot looking at plants, and chasing after her best buddy Max.
She’s full of energy and enthusiasm, but also has a calm, comforting presence that
puts people at ease. She adores meeting new friends, offering gentle snuggles, and
learning new tricks—especially if treats are involved. She also spends a lot of time
trying to win over the family cat, Peach Pie, who remains skeptical despite Lowly
Worm's best efforts. While she’s always up for a fun adventure, Lowly also seems to
know exactly when someone needs a little extra comfort. Her joy is contagious, and
she brings a little extra sunshine wherever she goes. Lowly Worm is thrilled to be
part of the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Oklahoma State University with her
mom, Lauren Amaya.
Lucy C
Lucy loves being the center of attention and is excited to be a part of Pete's Pet Posse. Lucy was born February 2015 in Girard, Kansas. When she was a tiny
pup, her fur had a red tint and she had a comedic personality, so she was named after Lucille Ball. Lucy loves people and is convinced that every person she encounters wants to pet her and she still attempts to greet everyone that comes near, but this is becoming more difficult as she ages. Her favorite game is tug and in her younger days she could outlast any opponent. She also enjoys having tea parties with our granddaughter on our back patio. She patiently waits, with paws crossed, for Madison to pour water into a teacup and then drinks. Her parents are Karen and Kevin Clark. Lucy and her mom wo
rk in The Child Development Lab, in the College of Education and Human Sciences.
Lumos
Lumos Maxima was adopted from the Humane Society. Because no one knows her birth date, and because her mom is a Potterhead, her birthday was chosen as Harry Potter's birthday - July 31. Lumos is intelligent, and has learned to communicate using a BIGmack button board. Her favorite button is the music button, but now has the ability to pick which Amazon Music playlist she'd like to listen to (Saxophone, Cello, Bagpipes, Piano, or Worship). She sometimes uses multiple buttons together to pick other types; such as the 'Water' button and general 'Music' button which she has requested rain sounds with. Her favorite playlist to request is Bagpipes though. Lumos also uses her buttons to manipulate others into giving her more treats (she's crafty).
Lumos LOVES Pistol Pete. He is her favorite person, even over her mom. When Pete is in the room, no one else matters. She really loves car rides with the windows down, going shopping, and of course getting pup cups in the Braum's drive thru. She loves to sit on campus and watch the squirrels race about; and also likes to watch the ducks at Theta Pond. She uses her buttons 'Outside' and 'Water' to ask to go to Theta Pond. Lumos has earned the AKC title Therapy Dog Supreme for completion of over 600 therapy dog visits and events. She also works as a testing canine for the national certification agency Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Maverick
I was a stray dog that found my way to an Arkansas shelter in the spring of 2022 with an embedded collar and some scars. That was no life for me – but I didn’t give up hope! The good people at the shelter saw something special in me and I was rescued by Lab Rescue of Oklahoma in June 2022. My transport volunteer gave me a ride for two hours to my foster home and sensed something special in me. I didn’t say much, yet he felt my gratitude and a connection. Sometimes, connections can’t be explained. He thought about me a lot. He told his wife, “He is the one and I can’t explain why.” When she met me, she knew too. I found my forever home. I am living my best life. They had big plans for me. My new family tells me that I have what it takes to love others. I’m easy going and don’t need too much. I am a lover. I like walks, snuggling on the couch and chewing on bones or my favorite treat, a peanut butter filled Kong. I’m a gentle boy who loves pets and may lean into those who accept me. My favorite place is in your lap if you’ll let me. I enjoy getting out and about in town because I love meeting humans big and small. Then I’ll take a nap. LOL.
Maxx
Maxx is proof that it’s never too late to learn new tricks! This lovable golden retriever joined P3 right after he turned 9 years old. When he’s not visiting with
cowgirls and cowboys on campus, Maxx enjoys his time around water. He gets most excited
to take boat rides and share some fresh snacks like apples, peppers, and carrots.
Even though Maxx loves swimming and fishing, he loves cuddling his humans most of
all. Maxx has lived in seven states and brought joy to people across the country.
When he was 5, he joined his mom in graduate school and earned his "dogtorate" after
they shared many late nights of studying and writing. Now, Maxx, his little brother
Milton, and his mom and dad call Stillwater home!
McLintock
McLintock the English setter is excited to follow in his sister Minnie’s paw steps
as a P3 member. McLintock is named after the John Wayne movie, his mom’s family are big
fans. McLintock loves to point at birds in the back yard, go for walks, eat cheese,
and snuggle. He is a big guy with a sweet sensitive personality. He loves spending
time with his two dog and three cat siblings. He can often be found snuggling the
cats. He has a couple of nicknames, but the most common one is “Bubba Party”. McLintock
thinks his main job is following his mom around, so he is excited to go on campus
and make new friends. McLintock is a member of the agricultural economics department.
Minnie
Minnie was rescued from an animal shelter in Illinois when her mom was finishing her Ph.D. After being rescued, the shelter said she was three years old. When Minnie
went from 30 to 50 pounds and grew taller, it was clear she was much younger. Minnie
is an English setter and loves patrolling and pointing at birds in the backyard –
even hummingbirds! When not playing with her two dog siblings, she loves to snuggle
on the couch with a blanket. Minnie loves learning new tricks and meeting new people.
She has her AKC novice trick dog title and is working towards the intermediate level.
Her favorite thing about joining Pete’s Pet Posse is getting to go to campus. Minnie
works with her mom in Agricultural Hall.
Murphy
Murphy is an only child who loves being the center of attention and the playtime he gets with OSU and KLIFE students who come over for dinner. He loves to sit on people’s feet so they can’t go anywhere while petting him and gives love by putting his paw on anyone who pets him – sort of like he’s petting you back! There are some days Murphy’s energy is overwhelming, but a few minutes chasing the laser pointer, taking a good swim, chasing a soccer ball, or enjoying a long adventurous walk can wear him out. Just be prepared to follow through with serious playtime if you use the word “ball,” and expect to work hard to get the ball back since he protects the ball like the world’s best goalie! When he’s tired, Murphy’s favorite place to nap is in his dad’s leather chair or on the sofa with his parents. Murphy’s mom loves to cook, and he knows if he is patient and keeps a tight watch over the kitchen, that something might fall to the floor accidentally. Sometimes, he tries to sneak a little taste from the table and can’t understand why that’s frowned upon!
Ned Pepper
Ned Pepper was born on a cold February day in the small Northwest Alabama town of Cloverdale. He came to reside with adoptive dad after a chance meeting. His dad worked
as an extension agent and met Ned while on a farm visit. Ned Pepper is named after
an antagonist in the western film True Grit. Besides some rambunctious puppy and teenage
antics such as “digging up the carpet” and “eating sheetrock”, Ned has done little
to live up to his bad guy namesake. While Ned chose to continue his education at Oklahoma
State University, he is a proud graduate of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s Clown
College. He regularly demonstrates humorous antics, but this makes each day feel a
little less like a circus. While bred to be a herding dog, he prefers to keep his
distance from the bovine species, preferring instead to chase birds and various insects.
To date, he has failed to catch a bird, although he has not relinquished his efforts,
and his spirit has been undiminished. Ned’s favorite activity is eating, and his tastes
are far from refined. Ned has a good heart, never meets a stranger, and provides the
purest forms of love and loyalty in existence. Ned has earned his the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs. He works with his dad in the Oklahoma Quality Beef Network.
Oakley
Meet Oakley – a lovable Golden Retriever who was born on October 25, 2016,
and adopted by Rick and Marla Mahar. Oakley is a lovable ranch gal. Although she is not much of a cattle wrangler, the baby calves love to follow her around. With five ponds on the ranch, it is very hard for Oakley to stay out of the water. So… walking near Theta Pond might prove to be a challenge. Oakley and her mom work in the BCOM office at Spears Business School. She loves a good hug, her fur is as soft as silk, and she might even talk to you!
Oakley Rose
Meet Oakley Rose: professional napper, snack connoisseur, and attention hog. When she’s not busy getting belly rubs or sneakily spying on the neighbors during her very short walks (temperature permitting—anything over 75° is simply unreasonable), she’s snoozing on the couch or side-eyeing her energetic sister, Aspen. Oakley may be a bit lazy, but her sweet heart and soft fur make her the ultimate cuddle!
Ozzy
Ozzy is an Aussalier (half Toy Australian Shepherd and half Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) who joined his family in February 2023. He was supposed to weigh around
15 pounds when fully grown, but it turns out he was a Craigslist scam puppy and currently
weighs almost 40 pounds. His family loves all 40 pounds of him and decided it takes
that much size to hold his big personality. He always has a smile on his face and
a wagging tail. Ozzy loves his back yard, long walks, stealing socks, and tormenting
his cat brother. Ozzy is in Career Services.
Penny
Penny is a chocolate and tan Dachshund, born on May 16, 2019, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Penny came to live with her human family on October 5, 2019. Penny has
a little dog sister, Ginger, and an older dog brother, Harry. She’s a very busy girl
who loves to play ball and have regular zoomies. Penny loves sharing her sweetness
and making someone’s day better. She works with her mom in Human Resources.
Reilly
Reilly is the furry pride and joy of Jill and Tom Joyce. The Joyce family served for
several years as an active-duty Army family. With that service comes a lot of wonderful moments but also a lot of stress, which they still deal with now as a Veteran
family. Reilly is their favorite furry reminder to be present and enjoy the moment
for what it is. He has found his superpower and hopes to be able to serve others in
that capacity on the OSU campus. Reilly's favorite way to make people smile is by
being a parkour puppy who always lands on his feet, rolling around like a goofball
with his possum toys, and curling up in your lap for a nap. As the furry child of
a dietitian, his favorite treats are apples, carrots, and whole grain donuts. Stop
by and meet him to find out what that last one is. Reilly is also a member of the
CEHS Academic Programs and Support Services office and the Department of Nutritional
Sciences. He has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with Alliance
of Therapy Dogs.
Rigsby
Rigsby is a Great Pyrenees and American Bully mix born in January 2018, adopted in July of 2018 from the Stillwater Humane Society. Rigs is a very large dog, weighing
over 100lbs. Contrary to what his size might indicate, he loves to don a hoodie when
the weather gets chilly. Like any Great Pyrenees, Rigsby loves the outdoors. He enjoys
digging in the backyard and swimming in kiddie pools. His favorite trick is "shake",
but he requests payment for his shaking services by way of treats. His favorite treats
are any and all that you're willing to offer. He has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs. He works with his mom at the OSU Foundation, where he continues the tradition of Bella and Elsa by providing pet therapy to Foundation
employees and visitors.
Roger
The Vandy Family cannot imagine life without our calm, affectionate, and attentive boy. Roger truly is a fluffy ball of love and snuggles! He joined our family in April
2019 when he was about 6 months old. He came from a rough situation with a breeder
where he didn’t get much attention or exercise, but his new loving parents and four
human siblings immediately showered him with love and affection. We are certain Roger
was born to be a therapy dog. As soon as we got him, he would run to his human siblings
when they were hurt or upset. While Roger does the occasional zoomie in the backyard
and loves a good sniff around the block to search for squirrels, he is most happy
napping and cuddling humans. Though quiet in social settings, Roger loves “working
the room” when we have guests to say hello to everyone. Like Will Rogers, he’s never
met a human he didn’t like. He will persistently ask for rubs and offer his paw as
a way to say, “more please!” Roger loves making new human friends within the OSU community!
He works with his mom in Aviation & Space.
Roscoe
At four months old, Roscoe was found on the streets of OKC in January of 2011. Tired of the thug life, he welcomed the affections of the Baldwin family
and moved to Stillwater. Little did he realize his call
ing was to provide furry affection to Oklahoma State staff and students for over a decade. He loves taking long walks on campus, having stare downs with squirrels and relieving himself in front of prospective student tour groups. Even though he’s lost most of his hearing and eyesight he continues to find purpose in his work helping OSU students.
Rue Ralston
Rue was adopted as a puppy on December 23, 2019. She had her mom at hello with those big, beautiful brown eyes and natural eyeliner! She gives off the best "chill" vibes but has typical Pyrenees tendencies such as barking at birds flying overhead that she will never catch, barking at the wind, refusing to come in until she is ready and giving the "Pyr paw" when she wants you to keep petting her or scratching her belly. In March of 2023 her "little" 75 lb brother, Hank, was added to the family. They run, play and wrestle constantly, but he knows she is the boss! She is the most loving, calm and comforting dog when she senses someone needs that from her. She will lean on you when you pet her, and her wagging tail will cool you like a fan. Her mom first knew Rue was destined to be a therapy dog after witnessing her comforting my mom during her struggles with dementia. Her mom works in Academic Services for Student-Athletes.
Rue Runner
Rue was born on a cattle ranch just east of Stillwater on September 24, 2019. Rue is a black Australian Shepherd with eyes that will make you fall in lov
e! Rue loves to be outside and with her people. Some of Rue’s favorite things are chasing squirrels, going on walks, hanging out at the ranch, playing in any water, hanging out with her brother Header, and visiting her grandparents in Illinois. Rue has the most beautiful blue eyes and is one of the most loving dogs you will ever meet. She loves belly and butt scratches and her favorite place to sit is in your lap! Rue loves her people just as much as she loves ice cream and peanut butter! Rue works with her mom in the Office of the President.
Sadie
Sadie is a Havanese and can be described as friendly, intelligent, playful, spirited and mischievous. However, she can also be manipulative--an expert at getting
what she wants! With her dark eyes and expressive ears, she is a pro. If that doesn’t work, she can wine like no other. From the start, she loved big sister, Tessa, who is also a P3 Pup. Tessa is very patient with Sadie’s nipping and body slamming as they play in the backyard. Sadie could play in the NFL given how she outwits Tessa with her juke moves. When Sadie hears the ice dispenser, she will suddenly appear and jump straight up to the level of the dispenser until she gets an ice cube. If you have a cup of ice when you see Sadie, don’t make noise with the ice or you’ll see just how good she is at getting what she wants. Sadie's dad retired from the
Department of Industrial Engineering, so she’ll be a hard card to get.
Sarge
Sarge is a Labrador Retriever who was born on No
vember 11th, 2018. He is a big dog with an even bigger personality. He came to live with his
family when he was 2 because his first family could not keep him in their yard. His human siblings are
both students at OSU and he is excited to join them on campus. Sarge has never met
a stranger and loves chasing balls, frisbees and doing anything that involves the
water. Sarge is friendly, outgoing and is very affectionate. He thrives on interaction
with his favorite human, his dad, whom he is eager to please and fiercely loyal to. He
is happy to be part of the P3 program at OSU and loves attention, being petted and
treats. His mom, Kristi, works in the Communication and Science Disorders Department
as the OSU Speech-Language and Hearing Clinics coordinator. Sarge is very excited
to get to be in the Speech Clinic with all the graduate students and clients. Sarge
has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Scout
Scout is a super lovable mutt who had a bit of a rough start to life – but if you’ve
ever met him, you’d never know it! He came to his furever home when his mom came across
his sweet face online while a foster family was trying to find him a good home. It
was very clear he had been abused by humans at some point, but he had so much sweetness
behind those big golden eyes. After earning his trust through love, affection and
lots of snacks, Scout has proven that love conquers all. He adores being the center
of attention and almost always has a smile on his face. His tail never stops wagging
and he never misses an opportunity to make someone laugh with his silly personality.
The only thing Scout loves more than being a therapy dog is his Oklahoma State Cowboys.
His favorite color is orange and his biggest dream in life is to race Bullet down
the field at Boone Pickens Stadium! He practices all the time in his own backyard
when he’s not playing with his fur siblings or human brothers. Scout works with his
mom in the office of Student Accessibility Services. Scout has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Strudel
Strudel may be small in stature, but he makes up for it with his big personality!
His birthday is Nov. 27, 2017. Strudel loves meeting new people, going for walks
and car rides, and of course having his belly rubbed. Strudel considers himself a
professional taste-tester and loves fruits and vegetables, with strawberries and bell
peppers being his favorite. He has an extensive toy collection, and he is never far
from his favorite stuffed Lamb Chop or chicken. His hobbies include squeaking toys
through tv shows, growling at nothing in the middle of the night to scare his mom,
rolling outside and bringing his grass collection in through the doggie door, and
working to prefect those adorable puppy dog eyes to get whatever he wants. His arch
nemesis is a rolling trash can, and his life’s work is to protect his family from
the weekly trash truck. Strudel is gentle, smart, and true to his dachshund nature,
a dash of stubborn. Strudel works with his mom in the Office of Student Success.
Sunny
Sunny brings joy wherever she goes—she really is a ray of sunshine! We like to say she’s “solar powered” because she has so much energy, she has a hard time containing it sometimes! Her favorite treat is bananas, and she’s known for her signature “macaroni dance,” where she wags her whole body, not just her tail. Sunny has two human sisters she absolutely adores, but her best buddies are a pair of male cats from the neighborhood who stop by to play in our backyard every day. One of her favorite places to be is at OSU,
where she lights up around students and loves making new connections.
Sutton
Sutton is a mixed breed rescue (predominately Husky and Chow) with a whole lot of sass and a heart for service. Born in the Oklahoma City shelter, she was adopted, returned, and finally found her forever family through the OK Humane Society—and she’s been ruling the roost ever since. Now a proud member of Pete’s Pet Posse Class 10, Sutton brings her spirited energy and strong sense of justice to every visit. She’s the typical little sister: headstrong, full of opinions, and absolutely committed to
bossing around her big brother, Charlie (P3 Class 1 and Current Pawsident of Pete's Pet Posse).
Sutton is named in honor of legendary OSU basketball coach Eddie Sutton, and this girl takes her name seriously. She loves watching basketball, and her favorite part of the game? Defense. Always defense. She’s known to watch from the couch with laser focus and practices her defensive moves when playing with her brother, Charlie. She’s also known for her professional-level side eye, firm belief in law and order, and her ability to communicate entire conversations without making a sound. She sheds like it’s her job (because it kind of is), and if you’re not covered in dog hair after visiting her, you’re probably not doing it right. Don’t let the sass fool you—Sutton’s loyalty, love, and determination to make people smile are unmatched. She may be small in stature, but she carries a big mission and an even bigger attitude wherever she goes. She is honored to serve the Cowboy family.
Tessa
Tessa was born in August 2014. She is ¾ Golden Retriever and ¼ miniature poodle, but she looks like a mini Golden Retriever.
Tessa’s favorite activity is retrieving a ball or toy. She gets excited and runs to the door when she sees her orange Posse vest. Tessa has a much younger, and smaller, sister, who incites zoomies and an occasional soccer game with their favorite ball. Her favorite food is anything edible. Like all the Posse dogs, Tessa loves to be petted, however she has one unusual habit: She will rollover for tummy rubs, but only from women… Sorry guys. Dr. Tim Hardin, Tessa's dad is retired from Industrial Engineering and Management. They come to campus for visits about twice a month.
Theo
The timing of Theo’s birth, New Year’s Eve 2016, was symbolic. Six weeks after ushering in the new year, he would usher in a new era for his family—Andrea,
Mike, and two feline sisters (Sylvie and Pogo). An adopted older brother Dax (a black Dachsador)
would join the family a year later. His human parents appreciate the ways Theo reminds
them of the fundamentals of leading a good life. Theo wakes up every morning expecting
that day to be the best day EVER, and he greets nearly everyone as a potential new
best friend. He expresses deep gratitude for his daily kibbles, enjoys his relationships
to the max, and is quick to share his affection. He lives fully in the moment. Theo’s
three favorite pastimes are: (1) enticing Dax to chase him, (2) coaxing Dax to wrestle
with him, and (3) actually wrestling with him. Theo also loves new people, places, and learning in general—so
he loves being part of Pete’s Pet Posse! If you meet him, you’ll have to ask him how
he feels when the Pokes beat their rivals. Theo works with his dad, Dr. Mike Yough,
in the Educational Psychology Program on the second floor of Willard Hall. Theo has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Tillie
Tillie is an Irish Wolfhound. She was born May of 2022. Tillie’s Irish name
is Tuilelaith – pronounced Til-ah-lah. Tillie is shy in public, but loves being pet. At home she spends a great deal of time pushing her mom around with her very long, strong nose. She also does not believe she should stay inside the fence. She thinks she is a superhero and can leap a 6-foot fence with a smile. Tillie’s other favorite activities include scoping out kitchen counters to see if anyone left a dirty dish that might need cleaned and snuggling up for scratches. Tillie loves nothing more than to go to work and lay around all day. It's a hard job, but she's up for the challenge. She works with her mom, Amy Phipps, in Agriculture Human Resources.
Violet
Violet, AKA the “Bearded Lady”, is an outgoing lab mix born in April 2019. Adopted
just before COVID, she became a source of comfort and joy to her family during that challenging
time.
Violet, AKA the “Bearded Lady”, is an outgoing lab mix born in April 2019. Adopted just before COVID, she became a source of comfort and joy to her family during that challenging time. She has three human siblings, and loves to race around the yard with them, especially if it involves chasing leaves or snow. A morning walk is the perfect start to her days, following by sneaking overlooked food on the kitchen counter. Ever eager for affection, Violet will nuzzle under your hand to request pets or try to crawl into your lap. She works with her dad in Enterprise Information Technology.
Willow
Meet Willow, the corgi with a heart of gold and a mischievous glint in her bright
blue eyes! Born under the California sun (December 4th, 2021, to be exact), she’s traded sunny and 75 for the Oklahoma prairies.
Don’t let her bright blue eyes fool you though, this lady packs a punch of sass. Beneath that playful personality lies a love for belly rubs and showers of happy licks. This Oklahoma-transplant is all about exploring. Whether it’s conquering long walks, exploring trails, or devouring a pup cup, Willow will charm everyone she meets (she’s a pro at the stare-down!). Willow has earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen award and is certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Willow is pawsitively thrilled to be in Pete’s Pet Posse and make new friends! Buckle up for cuddles, corgi kisses, and a whole lot of fun with this Cali girl who’s got an Oklahoma heart. Willow is one of the friendly faces within the Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership!
Winnie L
Winnie’s birthday is 10-10-08 and became a part of our family December of 2008. Winnie, a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix, is a “rescue dog” in the way she rescued Sherri and her husband after their daughters moved away to attend college.
Her attentive personality and attitude put a smile back into their hearts when their world at home was undergoing drastic changes. Her attentiveness is not directed solely toward her family; she has the same caring, “tuned-in” attitude toward everyone she
encounters. If someone isn’t feeling well, she’s “on duty.” If something odd is going on outside and she’s inside, she immediately wants to go out to take care of business, even if her “sister” Chloe is totally disinterested. Although Winnie is a take-charge girl, she doesn't do it with any hint of aggressiveness (unless the wild turkeys near her backyard flap their wings and make too much noise; then she'd rather they just fly away). You can’t help falling in love with her, because she immediately falls in love with everyone. One look into those soulful eyes of hers and you’ll be hooked. Sherri and Troy love this little girl so much they wanted to share her with the OSU community. When Winnie’s people have all returned home for the evening, she runs to get her favorite toy and jumps onto Troy’s lap, repeatedly squeaking her toy. They’re sure this is her way of letting them know all is right with the world. Winnie is enjoying even more snuggles since Mom and Dad have both retired!!
“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.” ― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
Winston
Winston was born in October 2015 in Sharpsburg, Georgia.
After tons of research and searching for the right breed for our family, we decided we wanted an Alaskan Malamute. We wanted a large dog with a gentle temperament and Winston has been a perfect fit! Winston is very used to lots of attention – he earned his AKC Conformation Championship when he was two-years-old, so he is accustomed to being touched and groomed. He even gets his teeth brushed three times a week and doesn’t mind at all! Winston will do just about anything for a treat. Some of his favorite special treats are cheese cubes and beef jerky. People wonder why he doesn’t have a name that matches his breed. The reason is that his dad, Enzo, was flown to Georgia from the United Kingdom to breed with his mom, Fiona. Since Winston is half British, we decided to name him after Winston Churchill. His AKC registered name is “Vykon’s Amorak Their Finest Hour.” Winston loves meeting students all over campus! Please don’t be afraid when he greets you with a friendly howl because he loves to talk! In addition to his AKC Conformation Championship, Winston works with his mom, Ragan, in her office in Facilities Management Administration.

Meet Ziva, the lovable Heeler/Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her energy! Adopted from the Stillwater Humane Society in October 2023, Ziva quickly settled into her forever home with two teens and an older (dog) sibling. As the baby of the family, she’s spoiled positively rotten! Every soft surface in the home belongs to Ziva. Ziva’s favorite pastime? Herding her Labrador brother, Ziggy, while he tries to play fetch. Her favorite toy? Whichever toy he has at the moment!
While some dogs are all about treats, Ziva values love and attention above all else. Her gentle personality helps others feel at ease, and a good belly rub makes her whole day. With her endless affection and playful spirit, she reminds us that the real treats in life are the people (and dogs!) we share it with! Always eager to be where the people are, Ziva works with her Mom advising students in the Department of Sociology!
