Do You Know You Still Have Time to Submit 2018 Healthcare Flexible Spending Account Claims?

Did you know you still have time to submit 2018 healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA) claims?

  • In accordance with IRS regulations, money contributed to a FSA must be used during the plan year, which is currently based on the calendar year.  
  • At the end of the plan year, December 31, 2018, any remaining funds in your Chard Snyder healthcare flexible spending account (FSA), up to a maximum of $500, will rollover into the 2019 plan year. 
  • 2018 healthcare FSA claims may be submitted to Chard Snyder through March 31, 2019.  

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Eligible Expenses

Your Flex Spending Account (FSA) can be used to pay for eligible healthcare expenses that are approved by the IRS for reimbursement.  Some examples of claimable expenses include:

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance copayments, coinsurance and deductibles
  • Prescription drugs
  • Contact lens solution
  • Bandages
  • Over-the-counter drugs with a prescription from your doctor
