Holiday Schedule
Oklahoma State University Policy and Procedures Letter 3-0709 requires a committee consisting of faculty
and staff to meet with the Vice President for Administration and Finance and verify the holiday schedule
for the next fiscal year and make recommendation for the following two fiscal years. The committee met
in January 31, 2005. The committee discussed a proposal from the Staff Advisory Council for the
President, OSU, to declare December 31, 2007, an additional paid holiday. The committee, after due
consideration, rejected consideration of December 31, 2007, as either a work day or an
additional paid holiday. The committee recommended that December 31, 2007, be declared a
day of mandatory leave. The committee agreed that notification, almost three years in advance, is adequate
for employees to plan and accumulate the requisite eight hours of annual leave.
