Benefits Education - Student Health Insurance for GTAs and GRAs
Students employed by the University as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) are eligible for the OSU Student Health Insurance Plan, at no cost to the student, if the following requirements are met:
1. GTA/GRA employed at .25 FTE and
2. taking 9 credit hours during the Fall/Spring (2 credit hours during summer);
3. GTA/GRA employed at .50 FTE and
4. taking 6 credit hours during the Fall/Spring (2 credit hours during the summer).
It is important departments complete an EA and students enroll in classes in a timely manner as BOTH requirements must be met before the student is automatically enrolled in the Health Plan. Failure to meet both requirements could result in delay of insurance coverage. Students may choose to decline coverage annually by completing a form in the OSU Benefits Office, 106J Whitehurst.
